How do I install the WriteMate.io extension?
Open the Chrome Web Store (for Chrome or Edge) or Firefox Add-ons, search for "WriteMate.io", and click Add. The extension icon appears in your toolbar; pin it for quick access. No account is required to start using it.
The floating toolbar does not appear when I select text. What should I do?
First, reload the page after installing the extension — content scripts only load on tabs opened after install. If it still does not appear, check that WriteMate.io is enabled for the site in your browser's extension settings and that you have selected more than one character. Some sites in iframes or with strict CSP may not support overlays; for those, use the right-click menu instead.
I have hit my daily request limit. When does it reset?
Daily quotas reset at midnight UTC. Anonymous users get 10 requests per day; creating a free account raises that to 20; Pro subscribers get unlimited requests subject to fair use.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Open the user portal at https://writemate.io/portal, go to Subscription, and click Cancel. Your Pro benefits remain active until the end of the current billing cycle. You can resubscribe any time.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
Sign in, open the portal, go to Settings, and use "Delete account". This permanently removes your account, all encrypted history, device sessions, and usage records. Active Pro subscriptions are canceled automatically.
